Yl.bamm: The Austin Artist Who Has Been Facing His Demons Through Music and Is Finally Ready to Let the World Hear It

The name came before the music. When Yl.bamm was a baby his auntie looked at him climbing off air conditioning units, falling off tables, breaking things and carrying an attitude that was too big for his size and gave him the only name that made sense. Bam Bam. Like the Flintstones character who could not be contained no matter what anyone tried.

That energy never left Rynell Yamah. It just found a better place to go.

Born in Round Rock, Texas and raised in Austin, he moved between households and states throughout his upbringing, splitting time between Manhattan, Kansas and Austin, Texas between his mother and his father. That constant movement between worlds, between cities, between two different environments shaped a perspective that comes through clearly in everything he creates.

His father brought him into the studio as a child. That early exposure planted something that took years to fully bloom but never went dormant. Eight years of studying the game, working in the studio, writing songs and collaborating with others later, Yl.bamm is ready to drop his first single in October and introduce himself to the world on his own terms.

Music as therapy and warfare at the same time

What drives Yl.bamm to create is not ambition in the traditional sense. It is something more personal and more urgent than that.

He faces his demons through music. The difficulties he has lived through do not stay inside him and fester. They go into the music where he can confront them directly, express them honestly and move through them rather than getting stuck in them. That process is therapeutic in a real and necessary way for him.

But it is not just about himself. He makes music for his brothers and sisters too. To show them that anything is possible from anywhere. To give them something to hold onto when their own difficulties feel too heavy. To prove through his own story that being heard is possible even when everything around you makes you feel invisible.

That combination of personal expression and communal purpose gives his music a weight that goes beyond entertainment.

"It is never over. I can always do better. I have so much to achieve for me and to motivate my sisters and brothers."

Eight years of preparation for one October moment

Yl.bamm has been building this for eight years. Writing. Recording. Collaborating. Learning the craft from the inside out with the foundation his father gave him by bringing him into studios as a child. That is not an overnight career. That is a decade of deliberate preparation for the moment he steps forward and lets the music speak for itself.

His first project is coming in October and it represents everything those eight years of work have been building toward. No major features yet. No industry machine behind him. Just an artist from Austin, Texas who has been doing the work quietly and is now ready to be heard.

From Round Rock to everywhere

Yl.bamm grew up between cities and states, never fully rooted in one place, always adapting to new environments and new circumstances. That background gave him a versatility and a resilience that shows up in how he approaches music and life simultaneously.

He started his career at 11 years old. He is building something that is bigger than any single city or any single song. And when October arrives and the first single drops, the world is going to meet an artist who has been ready for this moment for a long time.
