NBA YoungBoy says his health is currently taking priority over his music career.
During a new interview with Funny Marco, NBA YoungBoy opened up about his future in music and revealed that doctors recently discovered an issue involving his heart. When asked how many more albums he plans to make, the rapper explained that releasing music is no longer his main focus right now.
“Music is not something I’m focused on,” YoungBoy said. He then revealed that a doctor told him the left side of his heart was swollen, suggesting that the health concern has played a role in his recent decision to slow down.
The news comes as YoungBoy, who turns 27 later this year, has already reduced his musical output compared with previous years. In 2026, he released Slime Cry earlier in the year before following it with ML2 in June.
Although YoungBoy has built an extensive catalog and reportedly has plenty of unreleased material, it remains unclear whether he plans to continue releasing music while dealing with his health concerns.
His upcoming appearance on Funny Marco’s Open Thoughts is expected to give fans a rare glimpse into his current mindset. A preview of the interview suggests that the conversation goes beyond music, with YoungBoy discussing personal topics including his tattoos, his emotions, and periods when he has felt hopeless.
For now, it appears the rapper is taking a step back from music and putting his health first.
