Foosiia: The 20 Year Old Michigan City Rapper Who Started in March and Already Has the Internet Paying Attention

Some artists spend years trying to find their moment. Foosiia found his in a week.

He started taking rap seriously in March of this year. Not years ago. Not in high school. This year. Born October 6th 2005 and raised between Hammond, Indiana and Michigan City, he spent most of his late teens listening to music rather than making it. Chuckyy. Lucki. Kllhrr. Ambient drill sounds after class or when he was bored, absorbing the kind of music that eventually works its way into how you think and move without you even realizing it.

Then he got to college. Linked up with his circle. Smoov, Ju, Jayjay, Donte, Grundy and Avery. And those sessions changed everything.

"My homie Smoov and Ju inspired me to rap," he says. Simple as that. The right people in the right room at the right time and something clicked that had been building quietly for years before that moment.

He posted "idc bout your cousin" and "Fast Life." Both took off within a week. At that point the question was not whether Foosiia had something. The question was how far he was going to take it.

Moving with purpose at 20

"My son and keeping myself happy is my motivation," he says.

On October 15th he and Smoov are dropping a collaborative EP together. The chemistry between them has already been established across multiple records and a full joint project from the two of them is exactly the kind of move that turns local buzz into something much wider.

Then on Halloween his full project "Reap" drops, featuring both Smoov and Ju. The title carries a specific energy and the timing is perfect. Everything he has been building since March, every record, every viral moment, every session with his circle, is going into that project and landing on one of the most attention grabbing dates on the calendar.

Two major releases in less than three weeks from an artist who has been doing this less than a year. The pages are stacking fast.

The circle that made it happen
