J. Cole’s The Fall-Off Exits Billboard 200, Ending a Longstanding Streak

J. Cole has reached an unexpected milestone with his latest album, The Fall-Off. Despite a strong debut earlier this year, the project has officially dropped off the Billboard 200 chart after 18 consecutive weeks.

Released in February 2026, The Fall-Off opened to impressive commercial success, moving more than 200,000 units in its first week and debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. The strong launch continued J. Cole’s reputation as one of hip-hop’s most reliable commercial performers and a key member of rap’s widely recognized "Big Three."

However, the album's chart run marks a departure from Cole's previous track record. Every one of his prior studio albums remained on the Billboard 200 for at least a full year before eventually leaving the chart. With The Fall-Off exiting after less than five months, that streak has now come to an end.

While the album is no longer charting, its story may not be over. Albums frequently return to the Billboard 200 due to renewed interest, viral moments, touring activity, or special releases. For now, though, The Fall-Off finds itself in the unusual position of becoming the shortest-charting album of J. Cole’s career.
