Fivio Foreign Clarifies Comments About Knicks Championship Parade Performances

The New York Knicks' first NBA championship in 53 years sparked massive celebrations across the city, with many of New York's biggest hip-hop figures joining in the excitement. Among them was Fivio Foreign, who proudly celebrated the historic achievement despite not attending or performing at the team's championship parade on Thursday, June 18.

The parade featured performances from Alicia Keys and Yung Miami, prompting some fans to speculate that Fivio was disappointed about being left out. However, the Brooklyn rapper quickly shut down any suggestions that he was criticizing either artist.

Before the parade, Fivio had posted on social media expressing his hopes of performing at the event, writing, "Idk who need to hear this but I better b performing in that parade in NY on Thursday!!" Some interpreted the message as frustration, but he later clarified his position and praised Alicia Keys for her contribution to the celebration.

"No Alicia Keys should not have brought me out. She did a beautiful job with her set. She got a beautiful career and beautiful family, and we definitely performed that song together in the past. I'm grateful to have even been a part of that. I'm just happy the city is being enjoyed right now. So stop the negative comments. Alicia been blessing the world with her voice since I was a kid," he wrote.

Fivio also responded to a social media user who suggested he should feel slighted that Yung Miami appeared in the parade before him. The commenter wrote, "They put Yung Miami on a float before you. You not working hard enough gang. Lock in." Fivio simply replied, "Bet," a response many viewed as motivation rather than a criticism of the former City Girls rapper.

Despite missing out on the parade lineup, Fivio Foreign made it clear that his focus remains on celebrating the Knicks' historic championship and supporting the city's moment of pride rather than fueling unnecessary controversy.
