Chrome Hearts has filed a lawsuit against department store retailer Nordstrom, accusing it of selling accessories that replicate its signature cross motifs.
The complaint was filed on June 4 in a California federal court and focuses on products such as belts, jewelry, and other accessories. One item highlighted in the case is a Cotton On Men’s studded belt sold through Nordstrom, which Chrome Hearts claims features cross designs that closely resemble its trademarked imagery.
According to the lawsuit, Chrome Hearts has long used its CH Cross and CH Plus symbols as defining elements of its brand identity. The company argues that these designs are strongly associated with its luxury aesthetic and that similar-looking products sold by Nordstrom could mislead customers into believing they are connected to the brand.
Chrome Hearts is seeking financial damages as well as a court order preventing Nordstrom from continuing to sell the disputed items. The brand also claims that the alleged infringement harms its reputation and dilutes the value of its established design language.
This case follows a recent pattern of legal action by Chrome Hearts, which has also pursued claims against other retailers over similar design disputes. The lawsuit underscores the brand’s ongoing efforts to tightly control the use of its signature cross imagery across fashion and retail markets.
