Playboy Payso: Brooklyn’s Independent Hustler Is Taking His Sound Overseas

The project connects two iconic hip-hop regions, Brooklyn and California, while giving Payso another world to build inside.

Its lead single, “Concrete to Palm Trees,” captures that idea perfectly. The title itself represents the transition from a Brooklyn foundation toward something bigger, while the New Angeles concept blends gritty city landscapes, luxury, darkness, ambition and independence.

That evolution is important to understanding Payso as an artist.

He is not abandoning where he came from. He is taking it with him.

Records like “That One Time” look back at the people, situations and hard lessons that helped shape him while keeping the focus on what comes next.

Produced by Dom2XL from Italy, the project takes Payso's New York perspective and places it against a retro, classic hip-hop backdrop with a mafioso-inspired aesthetic.

It is a natural progression for an artist who has never treated regional identity as a limitation.

Brooklyn is still the foundation. But Payso has already shown through New Angeles that his creative world can stretch across the country. Now Overseas Pimping takes that same idea across the Atlantic.

Payso describes the upcoming project as groundbreaking, and the concept gives him plenty of room to build something distinctive around the music, visuals and overall presentation.

The lifestyle is part of the art

For Payso, staying motivated is not simply about sitting down and forcing himself to create.
