Calebdoee: The Artist Who Has Been Building Since 2017 and Is Nowhere Near Finished

Some artists wait for the right moment to start. Calebdoee sat down in 2017, started crafting, and has not stopped since. No waiting for a co-sign. No waiting for the perfect conditions. Just a natural feel for speech and pace, a hunger to get better every single day, and a work ethic that has produced tape after tape after tape while most people are still trying to figure out where to begin.

His first mixtape dropped in 2018. Since then he has been locked in, developing his sound, pushing his catalog forward and building something that gets more complete with every project he releases. He is currently on his fifth tape, "Corleone: Part II," which is still getting its full run before anything new takes the spotlight. And behind the scenes, the sixth tape is already being finished.

That is the pace Calebdoee operates at. Always one step ahead. Always working on what comes next while making sure what is out right now gets everything it deserves.

How it started

He was not the kid who played every instrument or had a bedroom full of gear. What he had was something that cannot be taught. A natural gift for speech and pace. The ability to feel where words should land, how a flow should move, when to speed up and when to let a line breathe.

Being around music pulled him toward rap and once he sat down and started crafting in 2017, it clicked immediately. His first mixtape came out in 2018 and from there the releases kept coming. Each one a step forward. Each one a chance to try something new and push the sound further than it went on the last project.

Now with five tapes in the catalog and a sixth being built, Calebdoee has put together a body of work that speaks for itself.

What keeps him moving

Ask Calebdoee about motivation and he does not give you a rehearsed answer. He gives you the real one.

His family. His lifestyle. And a standard he holds himself to every single morning he wakes up.

"If I woke up this morning we gotta have some sort of progress than the day before," he says. That mindset is simple but it is also relentless. Every day has to move the needle. Every session has to add something. Standing still is not an option.

He stays sharp by never getting comfortable with where he is. Trying different pockets and flows, exploring new ways to approach a track, refusing to settle into a pattern just because it worked before. That constant push to evolve is what separates artists who build lasting catalogs from ones who peak early and fade.

Calebdoee is clearly in the first category.

"If I woke up this morning we gotta have some sort of progress than the day before."

The music and where it stands right now

"Vol 1., The Leftovers" is out now and available across all platforms. It is a project that gives you a clear picture of where Calebdoee is as an artist right now, sharp, confident and always finding new angles within his sound.

"Corleone: Part II" is the current focus and it is still getting its full run. He is not rushing past it to get to the next thing. He is giving it the time and attention it deserves while the audience that has been building around his music continues to grow.

And when "Corleone: Part II" has had its moment, the sixth tape will be ready. New music is coming sooner than later. That is not hype. With Calebdoee it is just how the schedule works.

Stingy with the music and proud of it

One of the most refreshing things about Calebdoee is his honesty about collaborations. He does not have major features and he is upfront about why.

"I am stingy with my music so a lot of people do not ask," he says.

That is not a knock on collaboration. That is an artist who knows exactly what he is building and is protective of it. Every project in his catalog has a specific feel and a specific standard. Not everyone is going to fit into that world and he is not going to force it just to have a name on a track.

When the right collaboration comes along it will make sense. Until then, the music speaks entirely in his own voice and there is nothing wrong with that.

Six tapes and just getting started

Calebdoee has been at this since 2017. That is nearly a decade of sitting down, crafting, recording, releasing and building a catalog that most independent artists would not have the consistency or the patience to put together. He has done it without major features, without shortcuts and without ever letting a day pass without some kind of forward movement.

"Vol 1., The Leftovers" is out now. "Corleone: Part II" is still running. The sixth tape is being finished. New music is coming sooner than later.

The work does not stop. It never has. And with Calebdoee, it never will.
