Baynes is a recording artist, producer and founder of Inn House Studios, born in Brooklyn, New York and raised in Trinidad and Tobago. He calls his sound CALLALOO, named after the Trinidadian dish where everything goes into one pot, fusing Soca, Calypso, Rap, Reggae, Dancehall and Afrobeats into a lane he is building into a genre of its own. Influenced by Kendrick Lamar, Bob Marley, Joey Bada$$, Vybz Kartel and 50 Cent, he operates fully independently after turning down label deals, building an audience that connects as deeply in Trinidad, Jamaica, Barbados and Guyana as it does in DC, Philly, New York and Atlanta. His newest single "Sunrise" is out now and gaining traction, fan favorite "Callaloo" continues to climb, and Episode 2 of his live performance series "1/2 Way Off the Porch" premiered July 1st on YouTube. West Coast collaborations with legendary artists are in the works.
